International Crisis Group

Developing a new strategic direction for Crisis Group at 30

International Crisis Group is a leading conflict analysis and peacemaking organisation. They invited us to help them develop a new strategic direction to guide their work and measure their impact over the next five years – ensuring the organisation remains effective in an increasingly fragmented world of great power competition.

Free Thought worked in a consortium of three to conduct an in-depth consultation and prepare a new strategic direction for Crisis Group, and continued to support the leadership in preparing for implementation.

Collaborators: Danny Vannucchi, Grace Eickmeyer

At a significant moment in Crisis Group’s history, they guided us through a thoughtful process to bring about exactly the quality of strategic thinking we needed - rigorous, independent and ready to ask the difficult questions.

They were a joy to work with, collegial, good humoured and responsive. Importantly, they helped us articulate just what this turbulent moment requires of us.
